Leveling Up in Real Life
10th grader Louie is a Minecraft enthusiast, but his biggest wins are happening off-screen. Through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy with DDRC Behavioral Health Services, he has built confidence in communication, self-advocacy, friendships, and independent living skills.
“Louie made more progress with DDRC in two weeks than he did in an entire year with another provider,” Louie’s father says, crediting DDRC’s approach and the trust and rapport built by DDRC Behavior Analyst Matt.

September brings several reasons to celebrate the people behind our work. National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week runs September 13 through 19, honoring the DSPs who provide support at home, work, school, and throughout the community. We’re also proud to share that Deputy Director Lindsay Menough has been appointed to the national ANCOR Board of Representatives, and that several staff members have earned credentials through the NADSP E-Badge Academy, with DDRC leading Colorado as the first provider in the state to participate.
You’ll also find a recap of our Route 66 Golf Tournament and Online Auction, which raised nearly $74,000 for DDRC programs, an introduction to our new Amazon Wish List as an easy way to support the people we serve, and a look at the community resource fairs where our team connected with families and educators across Jefferson County this summer.
Annual Legislative BBQ, September 10
One event is coming up quickly. Our annual Legislative BBQ returns on Thursday, September 10, a tradition that has brought community members, elected leaders, and candidates together for more than 25 years. Enjoy an evening of complimentary BBQ, networking, and community dialogue at Apex Community Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.
This free event is co-hosted by DDRC, the Action Center, Family Tree, Jefferson Center, and Seniors Resource Center. Advance registration is requested, so reserve your spot today.
