Accreditation & Reports

What is CARF - Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

CARF is an international, not-for-profit organization founded in 1966 that accredits human services providers. DDRC/AVS has been a CARF accredited service provider since 1986.

Accreditation is a process that demonstrates a provider has met standards for quality of its services. CARF establishes these standards to guide providers in offering their services. CARF also uses the standards to evaluate how well a provider is serving people and how they can improve. – CARF International 2013.

Steve's Story

Steve Stunkard is starting his 15th season with the Colorado Rockies. Steve doesn't play for the Rockies but he feels he is doing the next best thing working for the Rockies as a ticket taker. Steve is the ultimate sports fan and loves greeting Rockies fans at Coors Field.

How did this dream come true for an individual diagnosed at 18 months of age with a disability?

His parents were told he should be institutionalized. Steve was blessed with a wonderful involved family. Steve's parents credit DDRC services with his progress and achievements. A supportive family and DDRC/AVS made for a winning team in making Steve's dream come true.

A Colorado Rockies Job Fair was held in March,1995. Steve and his AVS Employment Consultant, Donna Nash took him to investigate possible job opportunities. That was the beginning of Steve's dream job. On Steve's tenth anniversary with the Rockies, he was recognized for his ten years of service and his great attendance with a bat signed by all the Rockies players. "We are thrilled to have Steve as part of the Rockies organization," said his supervisor.
