Individual Employement

AVS' Community Employment department provides services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities to help attain and maintain paid employment with a variety of community businesses. Individual work locations are carefully developed to match an individual's interests and abilities.

Vocational evaluation
Job exploration/Job development
Job support / coaching
On-the-job training
On going support to maintain employment
Travel training for RTD or ACCESS-A-Ride
Assistance in arranging other modes of transportation

Admission Criteria

Pre-admission, vocational, evaluation/assessment and criminal background check
Developmentally Disabled, age 18 or older
Able to learn the use of public transportation (or alternative)
Able to work in a community setting without daily supervision
Self-medicates and exhibits safe behavior
No barriers to earned income and is committed and motivated to work
Willing to follow and cooperate work rules and your individual job placement and training plan
