Individual Employement

AVS' Community Employment department provides services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities to help attain and maintain paid employment with a variety of community businesses. Individual work locations are carefully developed to match an individual's interests and abilities.

Services

  • Vocational evaluation
  • Job exploration/Job development
  • Job support / coaching
  • On-the-job training
  • On going support to maintain employment
  • Travel training for RTD or ACCESS-A-Ride
  • Assistance in arranging other modes of transportation

Admission Criteria

  • Pre-admission, vocational, evaluation/assessment and criminal background check
  • Developmentally Disabled, age 18 or older
  • Able to learn the use of public transportation (or alternative)
  • Able to work in a community setting without daily supervision
  • Self-medicates and exhibits safe behavior
  • No barriers to earned income and is committed and motivated to work
  • Willing to follow and cooperate work rules and your individual job placement and training plan
