Veronica Canto, SPHR

Veronica started as DDRC's Director of Human Resources in 2026, bringing eight years of experience from the private financial sector where she previously served as Director of Human Resources. In addition to her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder (Go Buffs!), Veronica holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HRCI and stays current on employee relations and evolving employment law in Colorado through ongoing engagement with SHRM and HRCI.

Returning to her roots in nonprofit work, Veronica has held roles supporting children and their families in nonprofit and school-based settings and continues her commitment to service through volunteer work with the PTA and the Denver Zoo. She brings a people-centered, strategic approach to human resources, focused on building compliant, engaged, and high-performing teams driven to deliver meaningful impact for the community we serve. Passionate about employee development, Veronica is excited to support and empower DDRC’s team in alignment with the organization’s mission and overall strategic plan.
