Youth ABA Therapy

Overview

At DDRC, we understand that every child is unique, and we’re here to support your child through their growth and learning. Our youth ABA therapy services are designed for children through the age of 20, and we’re proud to offer them through Colorado’s Health First (Medicaid) Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit. Each child receives a personalized approach based on their individual needs, with services including behavioral assessments, skill-building exercises, and treatment plans that are crafted specifically for them. Our therapy combines group play-based sessions with one-on-one instruction, helping your child build essential skills in a nurturing, understanding environment.

Pediatric ABA Therapy FAQs

How long will my child need to be in ABA therapy?

The duration of ABA therapy depends on your child’s unique needs and goals. Some children may benefit from just a few months of therapy, while others may require several years to achieve their full potential. Progress is regularly assessed, and treatment plans are adjusted accordingly. It’s important to note that the goal of ABA therapy is to equip children with skills that last a lifetime, so many families see long-term benefits even after therapy has ended.

What kind of progress can I expect to see in my child with ABA therapy?

Every child progresses at their own pace, but you can expect to see measurable improvements in key areas like communication, social skills, daily living skills, and reducing problematic behaviors. We celebrate all progress, no matter how big or small, and are committed to tailoring therapy to fit your child’s growth. By involving families throughout the process, we make sure that progress is maintained and reinforced at home and in other environments.

How can I support my child’s progress outside of therapy sessions?

Parent involvement is crucial for reinforcing the skills your child is learning in therapy. We provide parents with training on how to implement strategies at home and in other settings. This might include practicing communication skills, helping with daily routines, or offering positive reinforcement when your child demonstrates new skills. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident and supported as you continue to help your child grow between therapy sessions.
