Holiday Open House Donation Drive (Holidays 2020)

Every year a group of caring Jefferson County residents host a holiday gift drive for older adults in-need served by DDRC. Some of these hostesses have family members or friends with disabilities, others just want to help! The hostesses appreciate that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) deserve to feel valued and acknowledged. This year, the hostesses are going ONLINE due to the pandemic. You're invited to join this online donation drive to make a difference.
Donations will benefit seniors and older adults with IDD of limited means. Many of them do not have family members involved in their lives, which is particularly difficult during the holidays. The donations will buy gift cards or will be directed toward services through DDRC that are particularly impacted due to COVID. The gift cards will allow recipients to get items of necessity or to enhance their everyday living experience. With the guidance of DDRC staff, these individuals will make choices on using their gift card, learn online skills and about online purchasing, and experience the excitement of waiting for and receiving their delivery.
