Lindsay Menough, MA
Lindsay has been working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 20 years. Her journey began at a group home in Massachusetts, where she met a woman with Down syndrome who had a profound impact on her life. After completing her undergraduate degree at Mesa State College, Lindsay moved to Denver, where she started leading a residential program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. During this time, she met another woman with Down syndrome, who also left a significant mark on her life. During an emergency, this woman stayed with Lindsay for a night, and 17 years later, they are still together living as a host home family. Recognizing her commitment to this field, Lindsay decided to pursue a lifelong career in it. She expanded her knowledge and experience by leading various programs, including residential, day programs, employment initiatives, and community-based support services. Before joining DDRC, Lindsay spent ten years as the Director of Children and Family Services at another organization, followed by a position as President of a multistate provider organization based in Colorado. Lindsay also holds a master's degree in clinical mental health. Lindsay has been an active member of the Alliance and particularly enjoys the government and policy work that the association undertakes. She is currently on the GRACE committee and has experience writing legislation aimed at improving services. Additionally, she has collaborated with legislators to pass laws that enhance the lives of Coloradans. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys teaching and practicing hot yoga, spending time in her native New England, traveling, and creating new and exciting memories with her family and their two dogs.
