Pete’s mom, Tereasa Burns, was four and a half months pregnant when she found out she was going to have a child with Down syndrome. After some self-education about Down syndrome, a mentor from Mile High Down Syndrome contacted them and shared the many resources that would be available, especially in Jefferson County.
